The American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2008 is realized by United States Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

HOW TO ENROLL

ONLINE REGISTRATION

THE FEDERATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE REGISTRATION when we reach full capacity, or September 13, wichever comes first.
Make sure to register early to save a spot

REGISTRATION CHECK DAY

ALL ATHLETES MUST CHECK THEIR REGISTRATION INFORMATION ON THE REGISTRATION CHECK DAY - SEPTEMBER 18th ON OUR WEBSITE www.usjjf.com

Corrections by e-mail:
The athletes can send e-mail with changes on the registration, by sending an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org with the subject 'AMERICAN NATIONAL CORRECTION'. The deadline is September 15th 5PM GMT -7.

Registration Check day:
The athletes must make sure that their information is correct by checking the website on the registration list for their weight, belt, academy, age division, and name information. If there are any mistakes on the information (ei. typing mistakes by USBJJF) please send an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org. (deadline September 18th, 5PM GMT -7) .

The brackets will be released before the tournament . On friday, September 19th the brackets will be available online at our website.

After the registration check day, no changes will be made and no refunds will be given.

During the tournament, any mistakes on the brackets that were not correct previous to sign-in check day will lead to immediate disqualification .

DIVISIONS

Junior 16/17 year-olds

  • Only bluebelts

  • Men only

  • 16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division

  • Athletes born on 1991 and 1992 are eligible to compete

  • Fight time: 5 minutes

  • There is no open class.

Adults

  • The division is open for everyone, but athletes of other age divisions willing to compete here will not be allowed to fight in their own division (athletes can only enroll in one age division)

  • Fight time:
white belt 5 minutes
blue belt 6 minutes
purple belt 7 minutes
brown belt 8 minutes
black belt 10 minutes

Masters (30-35)

  • Athletes born between 1973 and 1978

  • Fight Time:
White belt 5 minutes
Blue belt 5 minutes
Purple/brown/black belts 6 minutes

Men only

Seniors 1 (36-40)

  • Athletes born between 1968 and 1972.

  • Fight time: White/Blue/Purple/brown/black belts - 5 minutes

  • Men only

Seniors 2 (41-45)

  • Athletes born between 1963 and 1967.

  • Fight time: Blue/Purple/brown/black belts - 5 minutes

  • Men only

Seniors 3 (over 46)

  • Athletes born in 1962 and before.

  • Fight time: Blue/Purple/brown/black belts - 5 minutes

  • Men only

Women

  • There will be six weight divisions (check weight list)

  • Brown and blackbelts will compete in the same division

  • Adults only

  • Fight Time:
White belt 5 minutes
Blue belt 6 minutes
Purple belt 7 minutes
Brown/black belt 10 minutes

WEIGH INS


The system will be the same used in the Mundial, the last Pan American, the athlete will check the weight after the official call for his first fight, minutes before he steps on the mat, the competitor can check the weight only once, if the competitor doesn't make it, he will be imediatelly disqualified. Make sure you're in the correct weight division, if the competitor doesn't make the weight, no changes will be accepted in the brackets, and there will be no refund on the fee.

All athletes must check weight with the gi on.

The USBJJF suggest that all athletes and instructors that signed for this tournament should read the rules.

 

AMERICAN NATIONAL JIU-JITSU NO-GI CHAMPIONSHIP 2008
The first American National Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi championship 2008 will be held on September 20th and 21st.
This event will be separate from the gi tournament and points will be tallied separately for the academies as well.
The points breakdown is as follows: First place- 9 points, Second place- 3 points, and Third place - 1 point.

The rules will be same as the Gi tournament.

All athletes must get the event rash guard at the USBJJ booth one hour prior to the division schedule.

1 – EVENT RASH GUARD (Each athlete will receive THE EVENT RASH GUARD sponsored by IBJJF)

2 – BOARD SHORTS : THE COMPETITORS CAN ONLY COMPETE WITH ANY BLACK BOARD SHORTS (MUST BE ALL SOLID BLACK COLOR, NO OTHER COLORS WILL BE ACCEPTED).

NOTE; A EXCEPTION WILL BE MADE ON THE BLACK BELT ADULT DIVISION – THE COMPETITORS IN THIS DIVISION ARE ALLOWED TO USE ANY BRAND OF ALL SOLID BLACK COLOR RASH GUARD)

WOMAN DIVISION UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

1 – EVENT RASH GUARD (Each athlete will receive THE EVENT RASH GUARD sponsored by IBJJF )
