The American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2009 is realized by United States Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

The athletes from the following countries Brazil, France, Portugal, Canada and Japan must be affiliated with their countries national Brazilian jiu jitsu federation, and must bring federation ID at the event before their fights, otherwise you will not be able to compete.


HOW TO ENROLL

The registration is closed.

The registration fees for the tournament are as follows:

  • The fee for registration in the Gi tournament , i.e., received from Thursday, July 16, 2009 - Saturday, August 22, 2009 11:59pm is US $62.00.
  • The fee for registration in the Gi tournament , i.e., received from Sunday, August 23, 2009 - Thursday, September 03, 2009 11:59pm is US $77.00.


ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11:59PM Thursday, September 03, 2009! (GMT - 7, Greenwich Mean Time). Also, note that registration fee(s) are non-refundable.

THE FEDERATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE REGISTRATION when we reach full capacity, or September 03, wichever comes first.

REGISTRATION CHECK DAY

ALL ATHLETES MUST CHECK THEIR REGISTRATION INFORMATION ON THE REGISTRATION CHECK DAY - SEPTEMBER 10th ON OUR WEBSITE www.usbjjf.org

Corrections by e-mail:
The athletes can send e-mail with changes on the registration, by sending an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org with the subject 'AMERICAN NATIONAL CORRECTION'. The deadline is September 7th 5PM GMT -7.

Registration Check day:
The athletes must make sure that their information is correct by checking the website on the registration list for their weight, belt, academy, age division, and name information. If there are any mistakes on the information (ei. typing mistakes by USBJJF) please send an email to ibjjf@ibjjf.org. (deadline September 10th, 5PM GMT -7) .

The brackets will be released before the tournament . On friday, September 11th the brackets will be available online at our website.

After the registration check day, no changes will be made and no refunds will be given.

During the tournament, any mistakes on the brackets that were not correct previous to sign-in check day will lead to immediate disqualification.


DIVISIONS

Junior 16/17 year-olds

  • Only bluebelts

  • Men only

  • 16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division

  • Athletes born on 1992 and 1993 are eligible to compete

  • Fight time: 5 minutes

  • There is no open class.

Adults

  • The division is open for everyone, but athletes of other age divisions willing to compete here will not be allowed to fight in their own division (athletes can only enroll in one age division)

  • Fight time:
white belt 5 minutes
blue belt 6 minutes
purple belt 7 minutes
brown belt 8 minutes
black belt 10 minutes

Masters (30-35)

  • Athletes born between 1974 and 1979

  • Fight Time:
White belt 5 minutes
Blue belt 5 minutes
Purple/brown/black belts 6 minutes

Men only

Seniors 1 (36-40)

  • Athletes born between 1969 and 1973.

  • Fight time: White/Blue/Purple/brown/black belts - 5 minutes

  • Men only

Seniors 2 (41-45)

  • Athletes born between 1964 and 1968.

  • Fight time: Blue/Purple/brown/black belts - 5 minutes

  • Men only

Seniors 3 (over 46)

  • Athletes born in 1963 and before.

  • Fight time: Blue/Purple/brown/black belts - 5 minutes

  • Men only

Women

  • There will be six weight divisions (check weight list)

  • Brown and blackbelts will compete in the same division

  • Adults only

  • Fight Time:
White belt 5 minutes
Blue belt 6 minutes
Purple belt 7 minutes
Brown/black belt 10 minutes

STAFF

Score keepers and Ring Coordinators are needed for the 2009 American National championships.

Would you like a front row seat to see the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2009? Help our sport grow and be an active part of the development of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? We are currently filling staff positions for The 2009 American National Jiu-Jitsu Championships. We are in need of time keepers and ring coordinators. You do not have to have any experience, just the willingness to hang in there for a long fun filled day. We will offer online tutorials and have a staff meeting at the start of each day to answer any questions that you might have.
All Volunteers will receive:

  1. Staff tee shirt
  2. Lunch
  3. Food and gas allowance
  4. USBJJF membership ID

WEIGH INS

The system will be the same used in the Mundial, the last Pan American, the athlete will check the weight after the official call for his first fight, minutes before he steps on the mat, the competitor can check the weight only once, if the competitor doesn't make it, he will be imediatelly disqualified. Make sure you're in the correct weight division, if the competitor doesn't make the weight, no changes will be accepted in the brackets, and there will be no refund on the fee.

All athletes must check weight with the gi on.

The USBJJF suggest that all athletes and instructors that signed for this tournament should read the rules.
